Nothing.ĭid I miss a step? In order to view the logs do I have to look somewhere other than the logs tab of 192.168.10.1? I am willing to be the guinea pig for getting FltPlanGo working with both traffic and weather with some help. I also was in the traffic pattern with a regional jet and a king air at a towered class C airport. Last night I flew by a known ADSB ground station, 2,700 AGL and within 15 miles. Before the flight, I changed the device to 1090 and turned on the logging so that I would be more likely to pickup traffic on the logs. The problem is I have yet to see any reception of information even on the logs section of the 192.168.10.1 screen. I am using FltPlanGo, and by connecting to an ADSB custom device and using port 4000, FltPlanGo seems to think it is connected to the device. Upon startup, my note pro 8.4 sees the stratux wifi, I am able to connect, and I am able to go to 192.168.10.1 and see the status etc. I formatted the sd card and used win32diskimager to image the sd card. I bought the original necessary stuff for the stratux (RPi, RDR-SDL, external battery, usb wifi) and have attempted this project with little success. I am a noob on all accounts on this project (RPi, stratux, reddit) so you will have to excuse my ignorance. Thank you in advance for any directional advice! The map screen just shows a white screen with grey grid over it. Is this on odd one or am I doing something wrong?ĭetails: FltPlan Go build 2.3.3 Nexus 7 running Android 6.0.1 Nexus 7 internal GPS turned on. I can connect to my home wifi network and the maps stay just fine. But, when I reconnect, the maps again go away. If I disconnect from the Stratux wifi connection, the maps come back. I get the ADS-B port 4000 going and all seems well. The free app shows graphical flight plan routes and gives registered users online, offline and in-flight access to NavLogs, Approach Plates, Weather. Once completed and powered up, I can connect to the stratux network in the Nexus and open the FltPlan Go app. The FltPlan Go Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) app for pilots brings all of the great FltPlan features and more from the website to your iPad, iPhone, or Android devices. I have gone through the basics as posted $120 For my checkride, I made a checklist for all the V speeds on the plane I was using and had those in front of me when needed, also made a checklist for maneuvers (like soft feild landing) so had those in front of me too.really really useful.Any chance you can point a noob in the right direction? I also have a Nexus 7 and prefer FlitPlan Go as the flying app of choice. Also, I really like being able to edit checklists in fltplan go. You can easily put these in iBook, but I thought it was useful having them within the application. For my checkride, I put the POH, the additional documents (like weight and balanced) that I scanned, and AIM, the Pilot Handbook of aeronautical knowledge, and some other nice references. Some features I love in fltplan go - is the documents, how I can put any document in the folders. Can someone confirm this? What about traffic? How about on foreflight? I was told the in-flight weather on fltplan go doesn't work with stratux. Maybe I just need some better instruction, but I can't get the fuel burn, and ascend and descent times and burns to work at all.ĥ. How is it on Foreflight? Even though fltplan go is good, it still could be way easier and functional. I may think that because the flight planning on Fltplan go is pretty great. The flight planning on FlyQ is not good at all. How is it on foreflight? Does anyone know if it compares to FlyQ weather (with regards to ease of use, visual stuff, etc)?Ĥ. The weather application on FlyQ is awesome. FlyQ doesn't have weight and balance calculator (fltplan go does). However, will foreflight give you the cross wind component? (I can use a crosswind calculator in fltplan go - but why not just make it automatic?)Ģ. Fltplan Go vs Foreflight: I love that FlyQ puts the winds superimposed over the runway. This is an excellent thread (first post) which summarizes how all the EFB's are similar - but this was over 1 year ago.ġ. I don't like FlyQ for several reasons which I will mention a few. I have been using fltplan go and really like it. I just paid for FlyQ for $39 for the year - (which is dumb because two weeks ago I could have paid $19 since it is offered at this price to students and CFI's). Been flying with FltPlan GO on Android and a Stratux for a year or so. I can't get the free ForeFlight because I stupidly used it up before I even brought my ipad to the plane. I didn't use my iPad until I got my license (actually started using it about 2 weeks before my checkride) - so now I want to use the best EFB for me. However, I just got my PPL SEL - so am not IR, but will start working on it. I don't have an external GPS (yet), but will want one and I like the idea of AHRS.
